The 2026 budget for the Ministry of Youth and Sports was passed this Friday in a plenary session of the National Assembly. Of the 165 registered members, 123 participated in the vote, including 10 by proxy. Among them, 122 voted in favor, none against, and there was only one abstention.

The ministry's total budget amounts to 39,130,877,740 FCFA in commitment authorizations and 38,961,414,380 FCFA in payment appropriations. This budget is divided among three main programs: the development of sports practice and performance, management and administrative oversight, and the social and economic advancement of young people.

The Sports Practice and Performance Development program benefits from the largest volume of resources, with a total amount of 30,786,052,247 FCFA. It includes personnel expenses valued at 228,930,000 FCFA, the acquisition of goods and services for 10,172,423,250 FCFA, current transfers of 11,619,750,000 FCFA and investments executed by the State amounting to 8,764,948,997 FCFA.

The Steering, Coordination, and Administrative Management program has a total budget of 5,703,605,067 FCFA in commitment authorizations and 5,534,141,707 FCFA in payment appropriations. Personnel expenses amount to 3,050,469,640 FCFA, while goods and services are valued at 1,665,135,427 FCFA. Current transfers total 530,000,000 FCFA, and investments executed by the State reach 458,000,000 FCFA in commitment authorizations.

The Social and Economic Promotion of Youth program has a total budget of 2,641,220,426 FCFA. Personnel expenses are set at 294,848,000 FCFA, the acquisition of goods and services at 676,372,426 FCFA, current transfers at 400,000,000 FCFA and investments executed by the State at 1,270,000,000 FCFA.
