Mouvement International Russophile: Le Sénégalais Dr. Souleymane Anta Ndiaye élu Président
Dr. Souleymane Anta Ndiaye of Senegal was elected head of the executive board of the International Russophile Movement (MIR) at an extraordinary congress held Friday in Moscow. This election marks a significant milestone for this international non-governmental organization, founded in February 2023 by friends of Russia, primarily former foreign students in the Soviet Union.
The MIR's mission is to strengthen cultural ties between peoples in a multipolar world where Russia intends to play a major role. According to its leaders, "Russophiles are not focused on antagonistic divisions but on the process of developing human relations based on mutual respect and the recognition of universal civilizational values shared by the peoples of the world."
The creation of the movement brought together several Russian and foreign political and administrative figures, including the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.
Prior to his election, Dr. Ndiaye held the position of Deputy Secretary General of the MIR. A writer, former diplomat, professor of Russian, journalist and communications consultant, he embodies a committed intellectual and cultural figure.
He is also President of the African Renaissance Forum (FORA), a pan-African NGO founded in Paris in 2010, which works to promote African initiatives and intercultural dialogue.
