Nouveau gouvernement : le Palais justifie la longue attente
Senegal is anxiously awaiting the announcement of the new government. Ten days have passed since Ousmane Sonko was dismissed as Prime Minister, along with his team, and replaced by Al Aminou Lô, yet no new government has been formed. This prolonged wait is fueling speculation, particularly regarding behind-the-scenes maneuvering and power plays.
At the Palace, the line seems clear. "According to sources close to the Presidency, the publication of the new government would only take place after the completion of the last phase of national consultations undertaken by the Head of State within the framework of the open dialogue with the former authorities, the political forces and the various components of society," reveals L'Observateur, which looked into the subject in its edition of the day.
This Monday, the newspaper of the Future Media Group specifies, "President [Diomaye Faye] is receiving representatives of civil society, the final step in an institutional ballet presented as essential to stabilizing the political climate before any government recomposition."
In this context, the newspaper continues, there arises "a political equation of rare density": "between partisan loyalties, institutional balances and governance requirements, the formation of the new government appears as an exercise in political craftsmanship where each appointment becomes a signal, each omission an implicit stance."
