The head of Pastef, Birame Souleye Diop, was keen to dispel any ambiguity about the motivations behind the membership card sales campaign initiated by his party.
"The Pastef party is not competing with anyone. What others do is not our concern. We are focused on Pastef. Nothing else interests us. Let that be clear," he said, insisting that his party remains focused on its own objectives and internal organization.
Continuing his explanation, Birame Souleye Diop indicated that the membership card sales campaign is primarily aimed at identifying and registering Pastef activists. "We have the right to register and identify our activists through the sale of membership cards. That is the whole point of this membership card sales campaign," he clarified.
Through this statement, the political leader intends to put an end to interpretations that portray this initiative as an act of competition with other parties. For Pastef, it is first and foremost a tool for organizing, structuring, and consolidating its grassroots support.
