Pétrole, gaz, fer…: Ce que Sonko propose aux pays voisins
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and his Mauritanian counterpart, Mokhtar Ould Djay, visited a dialysis consumables manufacturing plant and the Elton gas terminal construction site yesterday, Friday. During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to address the energy challenge.

“Without energy, we cannot develop our countries. We visited the dialysis center. And the main machine needs almost 100 MW with all its components to operate. If you don't have enough energy, it cannot function. If you have energy that costs more than 100 FCFA per kWh, it cannot be competitive. Hence the fight we are waging for the energy challenge,” he emphasized.

Ousmane Sonko emphasized the need to meet this challenge to his Mauritanian counterpart, whose country shares the GTA gas project with Senegal. "In discussions with the Mauritanian Prime Minister, I told him that we must win the energy challenge," he stated. And to win this challenge and also move towards petrochemicals, steel, and other sectors, "we must succeed in the challenge of properly reclaiming our natural resources, particularly gas, oil, and all other resources," he said.

Ousmane Sonko explains that this is the vision he shared with the authorities of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and others. "Mauritania has a lot of iron ore that is mined and exported raw. We discussed this and said that we need to move towards steel production, to process it here. And the gas is there to do that," he says.

Ousmane Sonko ne fait que répéter ce qu'il y a dans le PSE et qui a été déjà dit par l’ancien régime:
