Polémique autour des TRS : Aïssata Tall Sall annonce une enquête parlementaire
In Dakar, during a press briefing on a financial operation of 650 million euros deemed opaque, Aïssata Tall Sall announced the imminent filing of a request for a parliamentary commission of inquiry.
Speaking to reporters, the chairwoman of the Takku-Wallu parliamentary group stated that this initiative aims to shed full light on the commitments made by the state within the framework of this mechanism. She emphasized the need for the government to provide "clear, complete, and substantiated" information, particularly through access to contractual documents.
According to her, this approach will allow the National Assembly to fully exercise its oversight role and guarantee transparency in the management of public finances.
Indeed, Aïssata Tall Sall disputed the government's claims that the National Assembly had been informed. Speaking to journalists, she asserted that no clear communication had been made to the members of parliament before the operation was carried out. "The minister never informed them, neither in writing nor orally," she insisted.
She criticizes in particular the use of the future tense by the Minister of Finance to refer to an operation already carried out, as well as the imprecise nature of the information contained in the budget documents.
The MP believes that the general formula in the finance law cannot serve as information on such a specific mechanism, arguing that it prevents Parliament from fully playing its oversight role.
