Présidentielle de 2029 : Waly Diouf Bodiang prévient Bassirou Diomaye Faye
Are we heading towards a confrontation between President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko in the next presidential election? If we listen to Waly Diouf Bodiang, it's highly likely if the head of state decides to run for a second term.
“(With Diomaye Faye, editor’s note) we share government actions, but politically, we are not in the same perspective. Ours, in any case, is to make Ousmane Sonko the president of the Republic,” suggests the Director of the Autonomous Port of Dakar during an interview with Jeune Afrique.
“We are waiting until 2029 to fight the adversaries that democracy will place before us,” adds Waly Diouf Bodiang.
It remains to be seen whether Bassirou Diomaye Faye will follow in the footsteps of Ousmane Sonko, already laid out by Waly Bodiang for 2029.
A potential confrontation and current hiccups that some are trying to prevent, but not the Port's CEO. "There are always well-intentioned people, people who, in times of crisis, take up the cause and try to smooth things over. I am not one of them. I don't see the point," he asserts.
