Recomposition de la gauche : La LD et l’AFP misent sur l’unité et la cohérence
The Democratic League (LD) and the Alliance of Progressive Forces (AFP) met to revitalize relations between their two Senegalese left-wing parties. The LD delegation was led by its secretary general, Nicolas Ndiaye, who welcomed the AFP delegation, headed by its secretary general, Member of Parliament and Mayor Mbaye Dione.
"This meeting is part of the revitalization of relations between our two left-wing parties, which share the same values and a long history of fruitful collaboration to exchange views on the current changes in the political landscape of our country," reads a statement received by Seneweb.
During the discussions, several major issues were addressed, including the evolution of the national political situation, the need to consolidate the opposition, and the urgency of revitalizing political dialogue.
Particular attention was paid to the role of left-wing forces in promoting social peace and institutional stability.
Discussions also focused on preparations for upcoming elections, in a context where the unity and coherence of political actors appear to be determining factors.
At the end of the meeting, both parties welcomed the convergence of their analyses and positions. They agreed to continue their consultations at various levels, particularly within youth, women's, and professional organizations.
The LD and the AFP have also expressed their desire to extend this dynamic to other political partners, with a view to building a coherent political offer, capable of meeting the expectations of citizens.
