Réforme du Code électoral : Moundiaye Cissé appelle au dialogue
The executive director of the NGO 3D, Moundiaye Cissé, spoke out on the reform of Articles L29 and L30 of the Electoral Code. A guest on the program "Point de vue" this Sunday on RTS, he emphasized the need for a consensual reform, rejecting any unilateral approach.
Drawing on the concerns of the opposition, particularly the Front for the Defense of Democracy (FDR), he stressed the importance of transparency in the electoral register and adherence to the electoral calendar.
The head of OND 3D also indicated that a meeting between authorities and political actors is planned for April 30 to ease tensions.
Mr. Cissé also called for an early anticipation of the local elections scheduled for late 2026-early 2027, to avoid any postponement of the mandate.
Regarding the reform of articles L28, L29, L30, he highlighted areas of legal uncertainty, particularly concerning the eligibility conditions linked to judicial convictions which have already sparked controversy, involving among others Khalifa Sall, Karim Wade and Ousmane Sonko.
Moundiaye Cissé finally pleaded for a consensual and inclusive reform, the only guarantee, according to him, of a peaceful electoral process.
