« Sonko est de retour, et le pays va trembler » : L’avertissement du leader de PASTEF au Dakar Arena !
In one part of his speech at Dakar Arena this Sunday, Ousmane Sonko asserted that his political opponents are pursuing a specific objective: to sever his connection with Senegalese youth. According to the PASTEF party leader, several recent controversies have been exploited to tarnish his image among young people, who have been the main focus of his political engagement for several years. "They have one obsession: to separate me from the youth," he declared. The leader of the Patriots believes that every crisis or controversial decision is used to try to turn him against this important segment of the population. "When the street vendors were evicted, I was held responsible. When there were problems at the university, I was also blamed, with the sole aim of alienating me from young people," he stated.
But beyond denouncing these maneuvers, Sonko primarily used this platform to set a new course of action for his supporters. He called on PASTEF to become an exemplary party in its behavior and in its relations with the various segments of society. "We must be an exemplary party. Take into consideration religious leaders, prominent figures, and all segments of society," he urged. The party leader particularly emphasized the need to abandon the insults, nicknames, and personal attacks that have sometimes characterized political debate on social media. "Taunts, nicknames, and insults must no longer be the image of PASTEF," he insisted.
Speaking directly to young people, he called for the emergence of a responsible, civic-minded generation capable of resisting provocation. "I want an intelligent and civic-minded youth. Don't give in to provocation," he declared. According to him, some adversaries will deliberately try to push activists into making mistakes in order to expose them to legal action. "They will recruit insult-mongers to provoke you and send you to prison. Refuse this trap," he warned.
At the same time, Sonko set ambitious goals for his party. He called on activists to travel the country, strengthen local structures, and accelerate membership growth. "I want more than half a million membership cards and 10,000 cells across the country," he declared. The PASTEF president also urged his supporters to register en masse on the electoral lists for the upcoming elections. Convinced of his movement's strength despite the departures recorded in recent months, he rejected the idea of an internal split. "There is no separation. A handful of people have withdrawn, but PASTEF retains the trust of the Senegalese people," he maintained.
Concluding on an offensive note, Sonko reaffirmed his confidence in the future of his party and its ability to influence national politics. "We are the largest party by the will of God. We have elected mayors, members of parliament, presidents. Sonko is back, and the country will tremble," he declared to the cheers of his supporters.
