Taxawu Sénégal : Khalifa Sall réclame Idrissa Seck
On May 9th and 10th, Taxawu Sénégal will hold its congress at the Grand Théâtre Doudou Ndiaye Rose. After a period marked by internal defections, the former mayor of Dakar intends to transform this event into a true demonstration of strength and cohesion. By choosing this symbolic venue, he is clearly showing his desire to "do things in a big way," reports the newspaper Les Échos.
The stakes go beyond simply structuring the party, according to the same source. Khalifa Sall wants to unite the "vital forces of the Nation" to "speak with one voice in preparation for future battles."
In addition to the expected presence of the Front for the Defence of the Republic (FDR) and its leaders, the invitation was extended to all major figures of the Senegalese opposition.
The biggest question mark surrounding this gathering remains the participation of Idrissa Seck. Within Taxawu, there is great hope that the Rewmi leader will appear alongside Khalifa Sall to consolidate a united front against the government, the daily newspaper reports.
