Scandale sexuel à Diourbel : 15 homosexuels, dont un marabout, un maître coranique et un porteur du VIH, arrêtés
The territorial brigade of the Diourbel gendarmerie company arrested 15 suspected homosexuals in connection with a case of sodomy, according to Seneweb sources. Among those arrested are a Quranic teacher, a marabout (religious leader), and a person living with HIV. All are members of a WhatsApp group. They have been taken into custody.
The starting point: a theft complaint
The case began when I. Djitté, a 63-year-old divorced marabout (religious leader), filed a complaint against persons unknown. He told the police that his two iPhones had been stolen. Analysis of the results of a warrant issued to a telephone company led to the arrest of three receivers of stolen goods. These individuals revealed the identity of the thief, a 20-year-old named F. Guèye. Guèye confessed to stealing the phones. He explained that he had had sexual relations with the marabout, who refused to pay him, claiming he had no money. This, he said, prompted him to steal the two phones.
That's how the marabout was arrested by the police. From complainant, he became a suspect.
Furthermore, F. Guèye revealed to investigators the identities of all members of their network. Between Thursday and Friday, the gendarmes arrested 13 other suspected homosexuals in Diourbel.
In total, these 15 individuals, presumed to be homosexual, were arrested, including the Koranic teacher Mr. Niang. All of them reportedly confessed to the charges against them.
Those who played a passive role during sexual acts underwent gynecological examinations. The tests came back positive. Medical reports indicated anal tears. Unfortunately, one of the suspects is HIV-positive and was receiving treatment at the hospital. Investigators also seized a large quantity of condoms and lubricants.
The 15 people arrested in this sex scandal have been placed in police custody for unnatural acts.
In addition, three other individuals were taken into custody for receiving stolen phones. They could be brought before a judge tomorrow, Monday.
