"Il s'entraîne à l'écart" : Un joueur sénégalais incertain pour le match face à la Mauritanie
After Edouard Mendy withdrew from the match against South Sudan, suffering a chest injury, another Lion of Teranga could miss the match against Mauritania: Ismail Jakobs.
Having only arrived on Saturday, the day after the 5-0 victory against South Sudan, the Galatasaray left-back has injured his knee. He is highly doubtful for the match against the Mauritanians this Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio.
"Ismail will train separately from the squad. He has knee pain. We will listen to the doctors' advice to find out what happens," the national coach said at a press conference.
A late arrival in the den, Jakobs was reported injured by his club, Galatasaray, before being selected the next day for the league. This prompted Senegal to request his immediate release to join the national team. This explains his arrival on Saturday, a few hours after the 5-0 victory against South Sudan.
