75 millions F CFA aux Lions : Diomaye Faye a tranché
The newspaper Source A broke the story. In its Thursday edition, the daily reports that the Lions, the 2025 African champions, have received the 75 million CFA franc bonus promised by President Diomaye Faye. "The transfers were made before the two matches against Peru and Gambia," the media outlet asserts, noting that the good news has been confirmed by a federation source.
The head of state is thus keeping his promise despite the CAF appeals committee stripping Senegal of its title and awarding it to Morocco. This decision has been challenged at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
In addition to the 75 million, Pape Thiaw's men are entitled to 1500 m2 plots of land on the Petite Côte. Source A does not specify whether the announced plots have also been allocated and the corresponding land titles issued.
It's worth noting that the Lions weren't the only ones to receive awards upon their return from the Moroccan expedition. Members of their staff, federation officials, and agents from the Ministry of Sports who played an active role in the victory were also recognized by Diomaye Faye.
