Accueil des Lions au palais : L'ancien Premier ministre Amadou Ba appelle à l’unité nationale
Invited by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on the occasion of the solemn welcome of the Lions at the Palace of the Republic, the former Prime Minister and leader of the New Responsibility, Amadou Ba, delivered a message focused on unity and overcoming political divisions.
For him, this moment should in no way be interpreted from a political perspective. "It is neither about the government nor the opposition," he declared to RTS1, believing that the circumstance calls for all Senegalese to rally around the national team.
According to Mr. Ba, the time has come for national unity and for the well-deserved tribute paid to the Lions for their victory.
Distancing himself from any controversy, the former head of government stated that he was not a fan of pointless debates. "You will never see me involved in matters that do not move the country forward," he maintained, reaffirming his commitment to the greater good of the nation.
Amadou Ba also spoke in favour of the continuity of the State, while wishing the current regime every success.
He finally thanked the head of state for the invitation extended to him, praising the republican and unifying nature of this initiative.
Through this statement, the former Prime Minister wanted to remind everyone that sport, beyond performance, remains a powerful factor of cohesion and national pride.
