Allemagne: Dortmund chute contre Leverkusen (1-0)
Borussia Dortmund lost on Saturday afternoon against Bayer Leverkusen (1-0), during the 29th day of the Bundesliga, opening a royal path for Bayern, who travel to St. Pauli (6:30 pm) towards a 35th German championship title.
With five matchdays remaining in the season, BVB remains 2nd in the German championship, but with 64 points on the board, they will finish the season with a maximum of 79 points.
Munich, who have been in the top spot since the first day, have 73 points before playing in Hamburg against St. Pauli, and therefore still need seven points in their last six Bundesliga matches to secure the Schale, the trophy awarded to the champion.
Borussia Dortmund were punished at the end of the first half by the Werkself (the factory team, nickname of the team of the club founded by the chemical company Bayer in 1904). Following a poor clearance by Rami Bensebaini towards Fabio Silva, Robert Andrich intercepted the ball and opened the scoring for Leverkusen (42nd minute).
This success allows Leverkusen to get back into the race for the next Champions League.
Kasper Hjulmand's men have indeed climbed to 5th place with 52 points, with a tight four-way battle --Leipzig 56, Suttgart 53, Leverkusen 52, Hoffenheim 51-- for 3rd and 4th places, the last two qualifying for the next Champions League, the first two going to Bayern and Dortmund.
