Annulation de la victoire du Sénégal : la décision de Betclic pour les parieurs de la CAN 2025
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has annulled Senegal's victory over Morocco in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, awarding the title to Morocco by default (3-0). This decision follows a protest by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) regarding the Senegalese team's conduct during the final (their walkout).
No doubt a decision that delights bettors who had wagered on the victory of the Kingdom of Morocco.
But will they be paid?
In any case, the general rule in sports betting is that bookmakers settle bets based on the official result at the time the bet closes, which was Senegal's victory on the evening of January 18th. The CAF's decision comes almost three months later, when the platforms have, in principle, already settled their accounts.
In any case, the online bookmaker Betclic announced that it would exceptionally validate bets that predicted Morocco would win the AFCON, despite the initial decision by CAF awarding the victory to Senegal.
"Like a Panenka from Diaz, we decided to be a player even 3 months later and we are exceptionally validating all Winner of the competition: Morocco and Final Victory bets," explained the bookmaker through the social network X.
