CAN 2025 : Avant le match, une séquence des joueurs du Sénégal fait polémique en Egypte (vidéo)
This Wednesday at 5 p.m., Senegal and Egypt will face off in the semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Before the crucial match, a video has sparked controversy among Egyptian fans. It shows Senegalese players training and recreating the celebration made famous by Djéné Dakonam (Getafe) and Amadou Onana (Aston Villa). This celebration, known as "in da pocket," shows the players putting three fingers in their pockets to symbolize three points for a victory.
In Egypt, however, the video is perceived as a provocation ahead of tomorrow's match. In Cairo and the surrounding area, the video seems to suggest that the Senegalese already consider victory against the Pharaohs a foregone conclusion. This misinterpretation has prompted reactions from many Egyptians on social media. In the comments, some Senegalese have tried to explain their players' actions, but the controversy has already reached considerable proportions in Egypt.

The mindgame is not going to prevail. The game is played on the field and it's just in less than 24 hours. This pulsating outcry is not going to deter the best team from winning.
