CAN féminine Maroc 2026 : le tirage au sort des groupes prévus ce jeudi à Rabat
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will conduct the draw for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 this Thursday, January 15. The ceremony will take place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat and will determine the composition of the groups for the final phase of the competition.
In total, 16 teams have secured their place at this major continental event. These are Morocco, the host country, South Africa, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Zambia.
These teams will be divided into four groups of four (A, B, C, and D). At the end of this group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The competition will then continue with the semifinals, the third-place match, and the grand final.
Furthermore, this tournament will also serve as the setting for the qualifying playoffs for the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027, thus offering an additional challenge to the participants.
For this draw, the 16 nations will be divided into four pots, according to the FIFA Women's World Ranking as of December 11, 2025. As the host country, Morocco is already guaranteed to be in Group A. Senegal, qualified for this 14th edition, will therefore find out its opponents this Thursday.
