CAN Maroc 2025 : Benin, Gernot Rohr publie une pré-liste de 30 joueurs
Benin, Senegal's opponent in Group D, is actively preparing for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. As the continental tournament approaches, the Cheetahs' coach, Gernot Rohr, has released a preliminary list of thirty players. This extended squad will serve as the basis for the training camp scheduled to begin in Ben Slimane, Morocco, on December 10th. The objective is to allow the coaching staff to observe a large group, assess each player's form, and then finalize the final list of twenty-seven players for the tournament.
This preliminary squad list marks a new stage in the current dynamics of the Benin national team. It includes familiar faces, important returning players, but also young talents knocking on the door of the national team. Gernot Rohr's staff seems to have opted for a blend of experience and fresh talent to best prepare for a competition that promises to be very demanding, especially considering the challenging group in which Benin finds itself, alongside Senegal, DR Congo, and Botswana.
Note that, for its first match against DR Congo, Benin will be without five starters, all suspended due to accumulated yellow cards.
