CAN Maroc-2025 : Kylian Mbappé évoque le pénalty raté de Brahim Diaz en finale
Moroccan striker Brahim Diaz dazzled at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The 26-year-old Real Madrid player scored a total of five goals, earning him the Golden Boot. The only blemish on his performance was his missed penalty in the final against Senegal.
That penalty awarded in the dying minutes of the match could have secured the title for Morocco. The Real Madrid striker was understandably devastated after his miss. His club teammate, Kylian Mbappé, commented on the incident during a press conference in Madrid.
"I spent half the night on the phone with Achraf, so I know very well everything that happened."
For him, Brahim is certainly sad and angry to have missed this golden opportunity.

He must be in a terrible state and our objective will be to get him back on his feet as a person, so it will be very important for him to have that support and we will be there for him," said the French international.
