"C'est un complot" : La presse marocaine s'en prend violemment à Sadio Mané
The Moroccan press has launched a scathing attack on Senegalese international Sadio Mané. 360, one of Morocco's leading sports media outlets, refuses to acknowledge the Senegalese star as the hero of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final for having asked his teammates to return to the pitch. The Moroccan press is instead promoting the theory that this was a conspiracy against Morocco, planned before the match and flawlessly executed by Mané and his teammates.
"When the Senegalese coach ordered his players to leave the field, Sadio Mané did not comply. While his teammates went to the locker room, the icon remained, as if he were waiting for something. As if he had a different role to play. That's where the affair takes on another dimension (...) Mané's presence on the field is not a coincidence. It is rather a piece of the mechanism of controlled chaos," the media outlet writes.
Le360 goes even further, with scathing criticism of Sadio Mané. "Everything was calculated, orchestrated, planned during this final. The chaotic events were pre-scripted with clearly identified protagonists. Among these protagonists of the worst, Sadio Mané. A hero in public, and an anti-hero behind the scenes," they write. What about the serious error of quickly whistling on the Senegalese goal? What about Brahim Diaz's missed penalty in the final second? Radio silence. It's as if Senegal pulled the strings themselves, even those of Morocco.
To support its claims, Le360 argues that El Hadji Diouf's phone call, as the Senegalese players left the pitch, demonstrates a conspiracy against Morocco. "The documented facts point to a well-prepared operation, with a distribution of roles and key players. Pape Thiaw plays the villain, the indignant one calling for rebellion against a referee's decision; the Senegalese public, the unruly troublemakers who destroy everything, with potentially dramatic consequences; El-Hadji Diouf, the liaison with Dakar meant to signal the end of the charade; and Sadio Mané, the wise man who calls his teammates back onto the pitch," the newspaper adds.
A rewriting of history that columnist Philippe Simo did not appreciate, describing the article as "rag". "This says a lot about the mentality of many people in Morocco. You lost, write articles about Mr. Panenka or about why towels have become so coveted in your country instead of blaming Senegal for everything," he said.

Les Marocains sont aujourd’hui confrontés à une crise identitaire : ils n’acceptent pas pleinement leur africanité et sont rejetés par les Européens auxquels ils tentent de s’assimiler. En se défendant par des insultes racistes, ils donnent une très mauvaise image de leur pays. Les grandes plateformes numériques enregistrent toutes les données ; les réseaux sociaux ne sont pas un jeu. Ce type de comportement peut, à terme, peser lourd dans la balance, notamment en vue de l’organisation d’événements mondiaux. Continuez à jouer les racistes à deux balles.
Pour finir, ce qui se passe nous rappelle, à nous peuples africains noirs, l’impérative nécessité de développer nos pays. Pour forcer le respect des autres, il faut avoir du pouvoir. On ne peut pas être dépendant et exiger en même temps le respect. Travaillons à développer nos nations : c’est notre seule voie de salut.

Si l'arbitree avait accorde le but du Senegal vous auriez perdu avec ces histoires de VAR et chaos. On etait nettement mieux que vous sur tous les plan. Meme nos quelques supportes ont tabasse vos centaines de stadiers
