Championnat d’Afrique scolaire : Bara Guèye et Prosper Pereira à l’honneur
Senegal confirmed its supremacy in the youth category at the African School Football Championship. Crowned champions, the Young Lions not only distinguished themselves collectively: several individuals also made their mark on the tournament, earning two major awards.
First, goalkeeper Prosper Pereira, a member of the Diambars academy in Saly, was named the best goalkeeper of the competition. Solid and reassuring throughout the tournament, he conceded only one goal in five matches. Decisive on several occasions, he particularly distinguished himself during the penalty shootout in the final.
On the offensive side, Bara Gueye also shone. Scoring three goals, including a brace against Morocco in the semi-final (4-0), the young striker distinguished himself with his efficiency and impact on the game. His performances earned him the title of best player of the tournament.
Trained at the Oslo Academy, Bara Guèye had already distinguished himself during the WAFU Zone A qualifiers, where he finished as top scorer and best player. These individual accolades crown Senegal's remarkable run, securing their first-ever African School Championship title.
