Championnats francophones de scrabble :Le Sénégalais Mactar Sylla rafle la mise à Ouagadougou
Senegalese Scrabble reigns supreme in Africa. At the Francophone African Scrabble Championships held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from April 9th to 19th, Senegalese player Mactar Sylla dominated the three major events of the competition. According to the Senegalese Federation, which released the information in a press release, Mactar achieved a triple victory, winning the African Blitz Championship, the African Elite Championship, and the African Pairs Championship alongside his compatriot Alassane Sow. "With this feat, Senegal confirms its status as a leading continental Scrabble nation, the result of the sustained work carried out over the past two years by President Moustapha Ndoye and his entire team," the Federation's press release stated.
The federal structure sends "a very special thought" to the Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the first ambassador of our discipline.
Finally, the Federation calls on the authorities to strengthen their support for this discipline, in order to better prepare for the upcoming World Championships scheduled for July in Tunis, and to support the implementation of the "Scrabble in schools" program, an important lever for the educational success of young people.
