The group stages of the 8th edition of the CHAN have delivered their verdict. The complete quarter-final draw is now known.
Defending champion Senegal will face tournament co-host Uganda. The Lions are familiar with this team, having already met them in a friendly match a few days before the start of the CHAN. This match went to the advantage of the Ugandans, who won 2-1. Backed by an entire nation, the Cranes will be keen to beat Senegal and reach the semi-finals.
The other co-hosting country, Tanzania, will have a tough challenge ahead of them. The Taifa Stars will take on one of the competition's big favorites, Morocco.
Two-time winners of the trophy, the Atlas Lions are the favorites, but Tanzania, given its performances since the start of the tournament, can hope to achieve the feat in front of its home crowd.
For its part, Kenya, surprisingly top of Group A ahead of Morocco, is the big revelation of this edition. The Harambee Stars, full of confidence, will cross swords with Madagascar for a place in the semi-finals.
Finally, Algeria, the unfortunate finalist of the last edition, will face Sudan in a duel that promises to be thrilling. Note that the quarter-finals begin on Friday, August 22.
