Coupe de France : Yehvann Diouf arrête deux penalties et qualifie Nice pour les demi-finales
Relegated to the bench since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, Yehvann Diouf proved on Wednesday that he remains a top-class goalkeeper. Starting in the French Cup quarter-final against Lorient FC, featuring Bamba Dieng and Sambou Soumano, the Senegalese goalkeeper delivered a solid performance, keeping a clean sheet for the full 90 minutes.
During the penalty shootout, the African champion proved decisive by stopping two opposing attempts. Yehvann Diouf first saved the shot from his compatriot Sambou Soumano before following up with another save against Bamo Meïté, thus sending his team to the semi-finals.
Thanks to this remarkable performance, the Senegalese goalkeeper could well regain his number one spot in the Nice squad.
As a reminder, last year Yehvann Diouf played in the Coupe de France final for Stade de Reims, who were ultimately beaten by Paris Saint-Germain (3-0).
