Coupe de la CAF : l’entraîneur sénégalais Lamine Ndiaye envoie l’USM Alger en finale
After losing the final in 2003 against Raja Casablanca, Lamine Ndiaye will play in another final of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup.
Indeed, the Senegalese coach and his team, USM Alger, qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup final after a 1-1 draw in Morocco against Olympic Club de Safi. Lamine Ndiaye's men secured their qualification thanks to the away goals rule, which is still in effect in African competitions. The first leg in Algeria ended 0-0.
Note that the second leg of the semi-final was delayed by 80 minutes at the El Massira stadium in Safi due to clashes between supporters of both sides. In the final, USM Alger will face Zamalek of Egypt.
