For the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19, Senegal unveiled its two jerseys. The first, green, features a red stripe down the sleeves, while the second, white, has several symbols discreetly placed on the front. But what people noticed first was the number of stars at the top of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) flag.
Following the CAF's decision to strip Senegal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations trophy and award it to Morocco, kit manufacturer Puma and the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) have decided to remove the second star from the team's jerseys. The two jerseys the Lions will wear at the 2026 World Cup will only feature one star, unless the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which has been petitioned by Senegal, decides otherwise before the start of the tournament.
