Défaite de la France en amical : « Pas inquiétant, mais une alerte », selon Vikash Dhorasoo
Defeated in their 2026 World Cup warm-up match, the French team must not panic. That, at least, is the opinion of former French international Vikash Dhorasoo. He urges Les Bleus to learn from this setback without questioning their potential.
In an interview with "L'Équipe," the former midfielder downplayed the significance of the defeat, while emphasizing the need for a swift reaction before the World Cup. "There are lessons to be learned, obviously. But I'm not worried," he said.
According to him, several circumstances explain the mixed performance of the Blues, notably the absence of some key players at the start and the numerous changes made by Didier Deschamps upon returning from the locker room.
"We were missing some important players at the start of the match. Didier Deschamps rotated the squad a lot after the break. Some players also arrived during the preparation period," Dhorasoo recalled.
While he refuses to overreact, the former Paris Saint-Germain player nevertheless sees this defeat as a warning sign. "They must take it as a wake-up call and mobilize, because the level of competition will rise, the pressure will increase," he warns. "The World Cup is coming very soon."
