E-CAN 2026 à Casablanca : Le Sénégal en lice pour la Coupe d’Afrique eSport
African eSport is about to experience a highlight with the holding of the E-CAN (African eSport Cup), a continental competition dedicated to the Mobile eFootball game, which takes place on January 15 and 16, 2026 in Casablanca, Morocco.
Organized by ACES (African Confederation of Esports), this major event brings together nearly 42 African countries, confirming the growing importance of esports on the continent. The competition is being held alongside the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a powerful symbol of the convergence between traditional and digital sports.
Senegal represented by "Momogaming"
Senegal is taking part in this African eSport Cup through the player Mamadou Ndiaye, better known under the pseudonym Momogaming, who represents the national colors under the aegis of SENGAMES (Senegalese Association of Gaming and eSport).
A member of ACES since 2023, SENGAMES actively works to structure, recognize, and professionalize esports in Senegal. This participation is part of a strategy to increase international visibility and promote Senegalese talent, particularly among young people.
Beyond the competition, E-CAN eSport aims to be a true platform for promoting digital professions, innovation, and gaming culture in Africa. It showcases a new generation of athletes from the digital world, capable of competing at the highest continental level.
With millions of young participants across Africa, esports now represents a significant driver of inclusion, employability, and cultural influence. Senegal's participation illustrates the country's commitment to supporting these new sporting disciplines, which align with the aspirations of young people.
Senegal's presence at the E-CAN comes at a time when eSport is gradually gaining international recognition, thanks to continental federations and increased professional organization.
In Casablanca, all eyes are on African talent and the future of sport in all its forms, both physical and digital. For Senegal, this participation marks an important step in its strategic positioning on the African eSports map.
