Niger secured a valuable 1-0 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Zanzibar, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The decisive goal was scored in the 58th minute by striker Daniel Sosah.

Reduced to ten men at the end of the match, Rahim Alhassane's men managed to preserve their advantage until the final whistle.

With this victory, Mena now occupy 3rd place in Group E (9 points), behind Tanzania (10 points, one match more). The next matches will be decisive in hoping to secure the 2nd qualifying place.

The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
