« Fausse blessure » : Reug Reug assène ses vérités
Three months after being involved in a car accident in the United Arab Emirates, Reug Reug (Thiaroye-sur-Mer stable) presented himself this Monday, February 23rd, at the headquarters of the Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL) at the National Arena. This visit was for a crucial second medical opinion following the submission of his certificate of recovery.
Speaking to the press, the "Lightning Bolt of Thiaroye" was keen to set the record straight. He firmly denied the rumors of a "fake injury," reminding everyone of the cost of his absence: the athlete had to withdraw from a $600,000 MMA fight (approximately 360 million CFA francs) to honor his contract in the Senegalese arena. As reported by Le Soleil, he also clarified that he had submitted his medical certificate of recovery on February 15th, before the Franc/Tapha Tine bout.
Boy Niang 2 ready for the duel
For his part, his opponent Boy Niang 2 recently stated that he had never interrupted his training, declaring himself ready to fight as soon as the date is set. Promoter Makane Mbengue (Gaston Productions), who has been working on this project since last year, is expected to set the date for the bout as soon as possible, now that the Federation has confirmed the Thiaroye wrestler's physical fitness.
