Faute de vol spécial : « Tous les Lions ont déjà quitté la Tanière » (RTS)
The official delegation of the Senegalese national team will not return to Dakar until Tuesday, July 7, with an arrival scheduled for 9:15 a.m., according to a statement released Sunday by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). But on the ground, the reality is quite different.
According to Ibrahima Mboup, RTS's special correspondent in Seattle, all the Lions have already left the United States. Speaking live on the 11 p.m. news on Sunday, the journalist indicated that "all the players have already left the Lions' den. They left on their own, in successive waves, over the last three days."
Describing this wait as a "tiring situation," he pointed out that Senegal was eliminated from the World Cup on July 1st, five days before the delegation's official return. "Only the officials and members of the technical staff remain," he clarified.
Regarding the return journey, Ibrahima Mboup explained that the official delegation will travel from Seattle to Baltimore, before taking a flight to Dakar. It will be a particularly long journey, including more than five hours of flight time on the first leg—with a possible layover—followed by approximately eight hours between Baltimore and the Senegalese capital.
