FC Barcelone : Mamadou Mbacke Fall sur le départ
FC Barcelona is about to lose another promising young player. After the announced departure of Dro Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain, it is now Mamadou Mbacke Fall who is heading for the exit. According to the daily newspaper Sport, the 23-year-old Senegalese central defender has decided to leave the Catalan club permanently.
With his contract expiring on June 30th, Mamadou Mbacke Fall is no longer part of the reserve team's coaching staff's plans. His absence from the last match against Andratx confirmed this trend. Having arrived in Catalonia in the summer of 2024 for an estimated two million euros, the player was initially expected to leave on a free transfer, meaning Barça would receive no money. This presented a delicate situation for the club's management, who were seeking a solution to limit the financial losses associated with this investment.
The situation was finally resolved thanks to an offer from the United States. The St. Louis club, a member of MLS, made a compelling contract proposal that heavily influenced the player's decision. Having previously played for Los Angeles FC, Mamadou Mbacke Fall is familiar with the North American league and sees this project as an ideal opportunity to revive his career.
The defender's objective is clear: to accumulate playing time in order to get closer to the Senegalese national team and hopefully participate in the World Cup next summer. Aware that this ambition was difficult to achieve with Barça Atlético, the imposing defender (1.89 m, 74 kg) chose an option he considers more logical for his future, despite a profile that could have provided solutions for the squad managed by Hansi Flick.
