After a remarkable second half of the season with FC Lorient, Bamba Dieng is preparing to move on. The 26-year-old Senegalese striker, whose contract expires on June 30, will not continue his adventure with the Merlus.

Having impressed this season under Olivier Pantaloni, the former Olympique de Marseille and Diambars player has rediscovered his attacking prowess. With 16 goals in 25 league appearances, plus 5 in the Coupe de France, he is simply having the best season of his career.

He thus surpasses his previous record set during the 2021-2022 season with Marseille, where he found the net 8 times. These performances earned him a recall to the national team.

Despite attempts by the Lorient management, particularly sporting director Laurent Koscielny, to extend his contract, the discussions did not succeed.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the season, Bamba Dieng is already attracting interest from several clubs in France and abroad, who are drawn to his return to the forefront.
