Finale Sénégal - Maroc : Le rapport du Tunisien Lemkecher qui contredit celui de Jean-Jacques Ndala
According to documents consulted by the newspaper Le Monde, Jean-Jacques Ndala, referee of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco, stipulated a "temporary stoppage of play" by Senegal in his report. The Congolese referee confirmed that the match continued to its conclusion, with the Lions of Teranga emerging victorious.
However, this report from the central referee was contradicted by that of the match's general coordinator, the Tunisian Khaled Lemkecher. In his report, he noted that the Senegalese players "went to the locker room, abandoning the match."
In its controversial decision to award the victory to Morocco by default at the expense of Senegal, the CAF disciplinary committee based its decision on this report by Khaled Lemkecher, more than on that of referee Jean-Jacques Ndala and on Law 5 of the IFAB which states that the decisions of the central referee are irrevocable.
It now remains to be seen what the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), seized by Senegal, will decide.
