Finale Youth League (U19) : Le Real Madrid sacré face au Club Bruges
Real Madrid won the Under-19 Champions League (Youth League) by defeating Club Brugge in the final. This victory prevented the young Madrid players from having a trophyless season for the club.
After eliminating Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, Real Madrid won on Monday evening in Lausanne (1-1, 4-2 on penalties) against Club Bruges.
Dominant in the first half, the Spaniards opened the scoring through their centre-forward Jacobo Ortega, who scored his fourth goal in the competition (23rd, 1-0).
After returning from the locker room, the Belgians showed a completely different face and eventually equalized through Tobias Lund Jensen (64th minute, 1-1).
Despite a very lively end to the match, neither team managed to break the deadlock in regulation time.
The decision was finally made during the penalty shootout, marked by two misses from Bruges players Naïm Amengal and Tian Nai Koren, both stopped by an excellent Javi Navarro.
Already decisive against PSG, the Madrid goalkeeper shone once again. Diego Aguado scored the winning penalty, giving Real Madrid their second title in the competition after their victory in 2020.
The Madrid club succeeds its rival, FC Barcelona, winner of the trophy last season.
