Foot: le Brésilien du Real Madrid Rodrygo blessé au genou droit et forfait pour le Mondial
Real Madrid's Brazilian striker Rodrygo has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, a serious injury that will keep him out of the end of the season with Real and the 2026 World Cup with the Seleção, his club said in a statement on Tuesday.
Injured on Monday during the match against Getafe (0-1), the 25-year-old player, a key member of the Brazilian national team (35 caps, 7 goals), could be out for at least seven months, according to the Spanish press.
Real Madrid also specifies that he is suffering from a "rupture of the lateral meniscus in his right leg".
The Madrid winger had just made his return to the pitch on Monday during the defeat against Getafe (0-1) in La Liga, after a month's absence due to a hamstring injury.
His prolonged absence is a blow for Real Madrid, already without Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, but especially for their national coach Carlo Ancelotti, who will not be able to count on him for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico (June 11-July 20).
