"We don't want to see this anymore." President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday deemed "unacceptable" the violence "in Paris and other cities" that followed Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Arsenal in the Champions League on Saturday night.

"That's not football, that's not sport, that's not what we like. So thank you to our police officers, to our gendarmes. We will be uncompromising with those who have been caught. We don't want to see this anymore. It's over. We've had enough," the president declared while welcoming the winning team to the Elysée Palace, referring to "unacceptable scenes of violence."

He also thanked the Minister of the Interior, the Prefect of Police, and "all the teams who mobilized (...) in the face of what is unspeakable."
