Football : Lionel Messi confie l’un des grands regrets de sa carrière
A global football icon, Lionel Messi has amassed trophies throughout an exceptional career: World Cup winner, multiple Champions League winner, and record holder for the Ballon d'Or. At 38, the Argentinian striker continues his journey with the same exacting standards, now playing for Inter Miami, and already with his sights set on a new major objective: defending his World Cup title at the next tournament.
During a recent appearance on the Miro de Atrás show, the Argentine captain spoke candidly about a more personal aspect of his life. Away from the pitch and statistics, Messi discussed a personal regret that still haunts him today.
“I have many regrets. I often tell my children that they need to study and prepare. When I was a child, I had the time to learn English, and I didn’t,” he confided. A lack he felt later, particularly during his many experiences abroad. “I was lucky enough to meet incredible people and experience extraordinary situations where I wish I could have communicated more. In those moments, you feel ignorant. It’s a real shame,” he added.
A rare confession from a player often perceived as infallible, which reminds us that even the greatest legends have regrets… and lessons to pass on.
