France: Didier Drogba honored at the 2026 UNFP Trophies

France : Didier Drogba distingué aux Trophées UNFP 2026

The traditional UNFP Trophies ceremony took place yesterday, Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Palais Brongniart in the ^2nd arrondissement of Paris, France. Several Ligue 1 players were recognized, including Ousmane Dembélé (named best player of the season) and Désiré Doué (best young player in Ligue 1). Former African football legend Didier Drogba was also honored.

Education, health and sustainable development

He received the "Citizen Player" award for his Foundation's work helping the most disadvantaged. "The best way to impact the future of a people is to educate them," the 2012 Champions League winner with Chelsea likes to say.

The Didier Drogba Foundation was created in 2007 and its three fundamental pillars are: education, health and sustainable development.
