Incidents après Guédiawaye FC / AS Pikine : la LSFP frappe fort
The Senegalese Professional Football League announced on Wednesday, April 1st, a series of disciplinary measures against Guédiawaye FC, following incidents that occurred after the suburban derby against AS Pikine (1-3), played during the 21st day of the championship.
On the pitch, the match went in favor of AS Pikine, who delivered a solid performance culminating in a well-deserved victory. However, the end of the game was marred by serious disturbances, with acts of vandalism resulting in significant property damage.
In response to these incidents, the LSFP has decided to take firm precautionary measures against Guédiawaye FC. The club is thus sanctioned with a travel ban for its supporters at its next three away matches. Furthermore, the team must play its next three home matches on neutral ground.
Furthermore, the League announced its intention to file a complaint against X in order to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of the violence.
These decisions reflect the desire of the governing body of Senegalese professional football to combat violence in stadiums and to preserve the image of the championship.
