« Je n’aime pas parler d’argent » : Les vérités de Pape Thiaw sur le salaire des coachs africains
For the first time in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, all four teams that have qualified for the semi-finals are managed by African coaches. This unprecedented situation reignites the debate on the recognition and, above all, the remuneration of locally based coaches.
When questioned by a journalist about the often perceived unfavorable salary situation of African coaches, the Senegal coach wanted to put things into perspective.
"Today, the results deserve recognition from the local coaches. The last four teams are coached by local sons, that's something extraordinary," he said.
But when faced with the question of money, the Senegalese coach remained true to his humble and patriotic discourse.
"I don't really like talking about money. As I've always said, my fate isn't important. The most important thing today is Senegal. We will do everything to bring it back to the very top."
