JOJ Dakar-2026 : Bassirou Diomaye Faye fait le point sur les préparatifs des Jeux
This Wednesday, during a cabinet meeting, the President of the Republic reviewed the preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. This event will take place in Senegal from October 31 to November 13, 2026. "He announced that he presided over the presentation ceremony of the official mascot, AYO, on October 31, 2026, and conducted an inspection visit on November 2, 2026, to assess the progress of construction sites for accommodation and sports facilities intended to house athletes and other participants. In this context, he instructed the government, the Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee, and the relevant public and private entities to take the necessary preventative measures to ensure that all infrastructure is completed on time and under the best possible conditions in terms of quality, safety, and sustainability," according to the press release.
Furthermore, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye indicated to the government that the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games represent a unique showcase for Senegal. He therefore requested that the systematic implementation of security measures for the events and the improvement of transportation systems for accommodation and competition venues be intensified. "He also emphasized the importance of further promoting the country's cultural and artisanal heritage, as well as its tourism potential, and of mobilizing all the nation's vital forces around the success of this sporting event, which will place Senegal at the forefront of international sporting, cultural, and tourism news," the document adds.

Il sert donc à quoi le comité d organisation des jeux si le président de la République se met aux manettes pour la com et la distribution des rôles? Le sieur Diagna à complètement disparu du paysage. C'est pourtant à lui qu'il appartient de porter tout ça, non?
Avec toute la Médina salé et les routes saccagées. Je ne pense pas que ce sera une belle image pour les étrangers qui viendront dans notre pays. En plus du marché tilene qui donne envie de vomir. Les dealers qui sèment la terreur ainsi que les routes impraticables. La médina c'est une honte pour la capitale (Dakar).
Essayez de redorer ce quartier qui a une histoire.
Parlant du (maire), un type qui a vendu le marché tilene... Vendre des places occupant les routes ou passent les voitures. Routes impraticables, inaccessible, tout ça pour de l'argent. Cette personne est la pire honte pour la médina......
