Lamine Camara : « Les consignes du coach ont bien été respectées »
Following Senegal's impressive opening victory, Lamine Camara spoke to reporters in the mixed zone. The young midfielder praised the team's tactical discipline while urging caution for the remainder of the tournament.
"The objective was simple: to start this competition well, and Alhamdoulilah, we succeeded. We followed the coach's instructions and everything went well for us," said Camara, who has been repositioned as one of the driving forces of the Senegalese midfield.
Despite this convincing start, the AS Monaco player remains grounded and refuses to be overly optimistic, drawing on the experience of the previous tournament. "We know it's not over yet. Even in Ivory Coast, we started the competition well, but the final result wasn't what we hoped for. Today, we have to forget that and stay focused on the upcoming matches."
When asked about the level of the opponent and the apparent ease of the match, Lamine Camara showed respect while highlighting the collective strength of the Lions: "I wouldn't say they were too weak. We simply executed the game plan. Perhaps they had a tactic to contain us, but we controlled the game well while respecting our values. Everything worked as planned."
