More than two months after their Africa Cup of Nations victory, the Senegalese national team returned to action, hosting Peru at the Stade de France. In this friendly match, which also served as the presentation of the trophy to the Senegalese diaspora, the Lions of Teranga dominated the Peruvians (2-0). In the absence of Sadio Mané, Ibrahim Mbaye shone brightly, delivering a top-level performance. True to form, Idrissa Gana Gueye once again impressed with a superb display in midfield.

Mory Diaw: 7/10

Starting for his first match since the victory against Peru, Mory Diaw delivered. Against a very enterprising Peruvian side, the Lions' goalkeeper made a superb save in the first half, at the crucial moment of the game, to preserve Senegal's lead. In the second half, despite a major error in possession that the Peruvian attackers failed to capitalize on, the Senegalese goalkeeper redeemed himself with a world-class save from an opponent's shot. A solid performance from the Le Havre goalkeeper.

Krépin Diatta: 8/10

True to form, Krépin Diatta delivered another impressive performance. Continuing his form from the Africa Cup of Nations, the Lions' right-back once again shone. Impeccable defensively, the AS Monaco player also contributed offensively with incisive runs forward to create numerical advantages. Aside from a poor clearance that almost benefited Peru, Krépin Diatta put in a solid display on his right flank.

Mamadou Sarr: 6/10

Understated, solid, and efficient, Mamadou Sarr delivered a flawless performance. Precise in his defensive interventions, the Chelsea player was never troubled by the Peruvian attackers. Alongside the experienced Moussa Niakhaté, the young (20-year-old) Lions defender was reassuring. Powerful in duels and committed in his defensive efforts, the center-back was generally up to the task in this match.

Moussa Niakhaté: 6/10

In a match defensively controlled by Senegal, Moussa Niakhaté was once again impeccable in the heart of the defense. Composed and focused, the Olympique Lyonnais defender delivered a fine performance. Always present and well-positioned, he provided reassurance in central defense, perfectly containing the attacking forays of the Peruvian forwards. Even though the opposition didn't pose a significant threat, the solid Lions defender did his job perfectly.

Ismail Jakobs: 6/10

Starting on the left side of the defense, Ismail Jakobs rose to the occasion against the South Americans. Solid in his defensive interventions, the Galatasaray player immediately tried to inject his pace into the attacking phases of the game. Even though he wasn't very successful with his crosses and set pieces, the Lions' left-back was solid on his flank.

Idrissa Gana Gueye: 8/10

Captain in the absence of Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye delivered another excellent performance. Tireless in winning back possession, invaluable in building and organizing the game, the former Diambars player once again impressed with his work rate despite being 36 years old. Involved in all of the Lions' best attacks, the Everton midfielder played a near-perfect match in the middle of the park, making the most of every ball he touched. A solid performance from the record holder for international appearances.

Pape Gueye: 6/10

Alongside Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye delivered a solid performance in midfield. Despite some sluggishness in attacking phases, the former Olympique de Marseille player was omnipresent in the heart of the game. Valuable in winning back possession and impactful in duels, the scorer of the 2026 AFCON final goal was crucial in controlling the ball. He was replaced in the 67th minute by Habib Diarra, who tried to make a greater impact.

Lamine Camara: 7/10

Deployed as a playmaker, Lamine Camara was brilliant. Technically gifted, creative, and inspired, the midfielder, who came through the Génération Foot academy, was at the heart of all the Lions' attacking moves. A true maestro in the middle of the park, the AS Monaco player constantly strung together passes between the lines for his forwards. Thanks to his vision and technical ability, he played a major role in the attacking play. Very selfless, he also contributed aggressively to winning back possession. He was replaced in the 80th minute by Pape Matar Sarr, who didn't have time to make an impact.

Ibrahim Mbaye: 8/10

Having seen limited playing time recently under his coach at Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahim Mbaye used this friendly match to regain his confidence. Fast, incisive, and explosive, the young African champion (18 years old) was a real thorn in the side of the Peruvian defense. On a dazzling run down the wing, leaving two defenders in his wake, he delivered a perfect cross for Nicolas Jackson to score. Further proof of his immense potential. He was substituted in the 80th minute by Boulaye Dia.

Nicolas Jackson: 7/10

Lively and determined, the former Casa Sports striker tried to put pressure on the Peruvian defense. Although he made numerous runs and dropped deep to participate in the play, he was sometimes clumsy in the final pass. However, he created the first chance with a pass from Ismaila Sarr (6th minute), before opening the scoring at the end of the first half with a cross from Ibrahim Mbaye (41st minute). Less prominent after the break, he was replaced by Assane Diao (67th minute), who returned to the national team after more than a year's absence due to injury.

Ismaila Sarr: 7/10

The most experienced attacking option in Pape Thiaw's lineup, Ismaila Sarr started the match with great energy. Incisive early on, he perfectly set up Nicolas Jackson for the first attack (6th minute). Working tirelessly, the Crystal Palace striker frequently ventured down the wings. Although his link-up play with Jakobs yielded few goals, he displayed great determination. He was rewarded by scoring Senegal's second goal, capitalizing on a fortunate deflection (54th minute). He was replaced in the 80th minute by Chérif Ndiaye.
