Le Maroc lance une offensive judiciaire pour bloquer la fête du Sénégal au Stade de France !
The legal battle between Senegal and Morocco has taken an unprecedented turn just hours before the Africa Cup of Nations trophy ceremony scheduled for this Saturday in Paris. Mourad Elajouti, president of the Moroccan Lawyers' Club, announced that he has sent a formal notice to the Stade de France and to GL Events, the event's organizer.
According to the lawyer, Senegal is no longer the legitimate holder of the continental title. "This celebration is based on a title from which the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has been officially stripped by international sporting bodies," insists Mr. Elajouti. He relies on a decision by the CAF Appeals Board, issued on March 17, 2026, which allegedly reassigned the title to Morocco.
In the absence of a stay of execution ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Moroccan side argues that Senegal's display of the trophy constitutes "usurpation of title" and a manifestly unlawful act. The offensive doesn't stop there: the lawyers are invoking Article 1240 of the French Civil Code to claim damages should the ceremony proceed.
