Solid league leaders AJEL of Rufisque made a strong statement in Matchday 17 with a victory away to AS Pikine, thus widening their lead at the top of the table. Behind them, US Gorée and Teungueth FC are faltering, while Sonacos is sinking further down the standings.

By defeating AS Pikine 2-0 at the Alassane Djigo Stadium, AJEL of Rufisque (33 points) solidified their first-place position in the standings. The Rufisque side now holds a five-point lead over their closest rival, US Gorée (28 points), who were held to a 1-1 draw by Guédiawaye FC.

Teungueth FC (3rd, 28 pts), who had the opportunity to seize second place and put pressure on AJEL, were also held to a draw at home by Linguère of Saint-Louis (1-1). Meanwhile, Casa Sports (4th, 26 pts) were held to a draw at home by ASC HLM of Dakar (0-0).

The Jaraaf-US Ouakam and Dakar Sacré-Cœur - AS Cambérène matches also ended in goalless draws.

At the Lat Dior stadium, Wallydaan defeated Sonacos (2-1) and climbed to 9th place with 21 points. Conversely, Sonacos suffered their second consecutive defeat and plummeted to 13th place in the standings.

At the Caroline Faye stadium, Génération Foot brought back a good point from their trip to the pitch of the Stade de Mbour (1-1).

Having scored twice in AJEL's victory against AS Pikine, Mouhamed Diop is currently the league's top scorer with 8 goals.
