In dire straits after 21 Ligue 1 matches, Sonacos de Diourbel and AS Cambéréne are sinking dangerously close to the relegation zone. Having lost their last matches, both clubs are now fighting for their survival in the top flight as the final stretch approaches.

  The fight to avoid relegation from the Senegalese Ligue 1 is becoming increasingly worrying for Sonacos of Diourbel and AS Cambéréne. Having lost to US Gorée (2-1) and Wallydaan (2-1) respectively in the 21st round of matches, both teams occupy the bottom spots in the standings and are facing a dangerous relegation threat.

Currently 15th with 17 points, Sonacos is going through a very difficult period. The Diourbel-based team, coming off their second consecutive defeat, are now three points behind the first team outside the relegation zone, Linguère de Saint-Louis (14th, 20 points), whom they will face in the next round in a crucial relegation battle. Since the start of the season, the Baol club has struggled to find its rhythm. In 21 matches, they have only managed three wins, along with 11 draws and 7 losses. With 31 goals conceded, Sonacos has the worst defense in the league, while their 13 goals scored make them the second-least prolific attack.

Meanwhile, AS Cambéréne, bottom of the table with 16 points, is experiencing a particularly difficult learning curve in its first season in the top flight. The Lébou club has only managed two wins in 21 matches and boasts worrying statistics. With just 12 goals scored, it has the worst attack in the league, while also having the second-leakest defense, having conceded 25 goals.

With nine matchdays remaining, the situation is becoming critical for both teams, who have both undergone mid-season coaching changes. Now is not the time for adjustment, but for a swift response. Without a rapid turnaround, Sonacos and AS Cambéréne could well be relegated from Ligue 1 at the end of this season.
