Ligue 1 - 23e journée : L’AS Pikine humilie la Linguère au stade Mawade Wade
Linguère (14th, 20 pts), the first team outside the relegation zone before hosting AS Pikine, were expected to bounce back at home after a 2-0 defeat in Diourbel against Sonacos. However, Samba Linguère and their new coach, Victor Diagne, completely missed the mark.
Despite the changes made by the new coach, Linguère quickly found themselves in difficulty with the expulsion of Abdoulaye Sylla in the 31st minute.
In stoppage time of the first period, AS Pikine, led by its attacking trio Mamadou Lamine Coréa, Pape Mangoné Ndiaye and Moustapha Kane, made the difference with two actions.
On the first occasion, Pape Mangoné Ndiaye broke down the right flank and perfectly set up Mamadou Lamine Coréa, who opened the scoring (45+3). Two minutes later, Mamadou Lamine Coréa scored his second goal, giving the Banlieusards a two-goal lead at halftime.
After the break, things didn't improve for Linguère, who were unable to establish their game. Worse still, Samba Linguère made a series of individual errors. In the 57th minute, following a major blunder by the Saint-Louis goalkeeper, Ousseynou Touré calmly scored AS Pikine's third goal.
Pape Mangoné Ndiaye, who delivered a fine performance, capped off Pikine's demonstration by scoring the fourth goal.
With this large victory (4-0), AS Pikine inflicts a real thrashing on Linguère, who are more than ever in danger in the fight for survival.
